The Alliance Française is a language and cultural relations organization. It was created in 1883 in Paris by renowned humanists, including Louis Pasteur and Jules Verne, with the principal objective of promoting and teaching the French language around the world.
Since then, it has developed into a global network of the Alliance Française institutions , with the common aim of fostering friendship between peoples, through the promotion of the French language and cultural diversity.
The Alliance Française network is currently operating in 135 countries around the world; the biggest cultural network in the world !
The Alliance Française de Nairobi was founded in 1949. It has grown into one of the largest in Africa offering French language courses to thousands of students annually. We offer a steady progression allowing our students to meet both their personal and professional objectives. The Alliance Française is the only accredited institution in Kenya for international and professional French language certification. It is also the only officially recognized institution in Kenya for certified translations.
The institution offers a rich programme of annual activities showcasing local and international Arts and encouraging creativity. It supports the production and presentation of artistic works, across all disciplines that reflect the diversity, aspirations and contradictions of our contemporary society and open up space for dialogue
Le réseau de l’Alliance Française est une organisation linguistique et culturelle soutenue par le gouvernement français. Il a été créé en 1883 à Paris par des humanistes renommés, dont Louis Pasteur et Jules Verne, dans le but principal de promouvoir et d’enseigner la langue française à travers le monde.
Depuis, il est devenu le réseau mondial Alliances Françaises, ayant pour objectif commun de favoriser l’amitié entre les peuples grâce à la promotion de la langue française et de la diversité culturelle.
Il existe actuellement plus de 800 Alliances Françaises implantées dans 135 pays, réparties sur 5 continents : l’Alliance Française est le principal réseau culturel mondial.
L’Alliance Française de Nairobi a été fondée en 1949. Implantée au cœur de la capitale kényane, elle est devenue l’une des plus importantes en Afrique, offrant des cours de français à des milliers d’étudiants chaque année. Elle est la seule institution accréditée au Kenya pour les certifications en langue française. Elle est également la seule institution officiellement reconnue au Kenya pour les traductions certifiées. L’institution propose en outre un riche programme d’activités culturelles mettant en valeur les artistes locaux et internationaux et encourage la créativité.
