Through shadow and blur effects in dark blue hues, Jimmy generates representations and visions from the past evoking a sense of nostalgia. His works take us back in time, through stories told by his grandfather, that retrace the Nairobi of the 60’s and 70’s. Jimmy imagines himself living in those times through his paintings. His works are currently being shown at the AKKA project gallery in Venice as part of ‘African identities’ exhibition that coincides with the Venice Art Biennale.
