Reimagining the Healthcare Systems

The fallout from Covid-19 has us all Reimagining Kenya and the World. A series of Corona Cafés, organized in partnership with the French Institute for Research in Africa (IFRA) and the online media platform The Elephant, will bring together experts and critical thinkers to re-envision society across inter-connected issues, encouraging the rethinking of many prior assumptions and examining the choices available for a better world.

This first Café will explore the Kenyan public healthcare system and what we can take from the responses, interventions and challenges of this pandemic season, inviting us to think critically about what we need to do to put in place a robust healthcare system that will serve Kenyans well into the future.

The Corona Café will be moderated by Dr. Mshai Mwangola, Performance Scholar, The Orature Collective.

The panelists include:

  • Dr. Richard Ayah, Director Science and Technology Park; Lecturer, Health Policy and Health Systems, School of Public Health University of Nairobi
  • Dr. Eric R. Masese, Medical Sociologist, Moi University
  • Dr. Nelly Bosire, Consultant specialist Obstetrician/Gynaecologist with special interest in health advocacy, former Board Member of the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists’ Board; a Health columnist and a Health blogger.
