The Alliance Française de Nairobi offers a rich programme of annual activities showcasing local and international Arts and encouraging creativity.
We support the production and presentation of artistic works, across all disciplines that reflect the diversity, aspirations and contradictions of our contemporary society and that open up space for dialogue.
Alliance Française also serves as an important bridge for artistic exchanges between Francophone and Anglophone artists.

Monday evening film screenings with a focus on French, Francophone, Kenyan and African cinema.
Monthly exhibitions dedicated to showing contemporary art that inspires thought, action and creativity.
Concerts by local and international artists highlighting and celebrating cultural diversity in music.
Original productions or adaptations by Kenyan theatre groups.
Open forums for exchanging ideas, discuss and debate topical issues of interest with experts.
Book launches and discussions promoting authors and their literary craft as well as providing a platform for sharing and exchanging ideas.

La Journée Internationale de la Francophonie is celebrated every year on 20th March. It is an occasion to recognize a language that unites and links over 200 million people around the world as well as celebrate the diversity of Francophone cultures.
Also known as the World Music Day, la Fête de la Musique is celebrated on 21st June bringing together diverse musicians to perform, celebrate and share their music.
The Night of Ideas is an evening of diverse activities that encourage the free flow of ideas and knowledge on specific subjects.
A celebration of the written and spoken word, connecting authors, editors, publishers and the public through exhibitions, promotions, networking, workshops, performances, and discussions.
Open to students of film, media, and communication to practice their skills and craft and gain practical experience in film making with minimal expense using their mobile phones.
