Based on the works of the famous comic strip series «Blake and Mortimer» by Edgar P. Jacobs, one of the founding fathers of the Franco-Belgian comic strip, this exhibition offers a fascinating journey through the history of what is commonly known as the «9th art» in the Franco-Belgian tradition, exploring its unique storytelling techniques and the artistic conventions that distinguish it from other forms of visual storytelling.
The launch of the exhibition will be preceded by an introductory lecture in the auditorium by one of the two co-curators, Eric Dubois, with a presentation of the work and life of Edgar P. Jacobs.

A partir des ouvrages de la célèbre série de BD, «Blake et Mortimer» d’Edgar P. Jacobs, un des pères fondateurs de la bande dessinée franco-belge, cette exposition propose un voyage fascinant à travers l’histoire de ce que l’on appelle communément le «9e art» dans la tradition franco-belge, en explorant ses techniques de narration uniques et les conventions artistiques qui la distinguent des autres formes de narration visuelle.
Le lancement de l’exposition sera précédé d’une conférence d’introduction dans l’auditorium par l’un des deux co-commissaires, Eric Dubois, avec une présentation de l’œuvre et de la vie d’Edgar P. Jacobs.
