Concert 🎵

A musical collaboration between French and Kenya,musicians to mark the world music day (la Fête de la Musique). The musicians will then perform on 28th June at the Nuits Métis Festival in Miramas, a city in the south of France, which will be hosting the Kenyan Olympics Team’s Pre-Games training camp.

CinemAlliance 🍿

Two twin sisters leave their small seaside town of Rochefort in search of romance. Hired as a carnival singer, one falls in love with an American musician, while the other must search for her ideal companion.

Exhibition 🎨

Formerly based in Nairobi at the Masai Mbili Artists Collective and then at the Kuona Art Studio, Wycliffe Opondo ‘Wiki’ now lives and paints in Kisumu, a move brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Showcase Wednesday 🎵

This audiovisual show combines a film of whale ballet with extraordinary variety of whale sounds, from the lowest to the highest pitched, with his double bass. What the audience hears is a fascinating, moving song that cries and laughs, the very song of the whales, reinvented by the composer-improviser.

Maalesh is a leading musician/songwriter from the Comoros Islands. He has been in the limelight since the mid-1990s having won prestigious awards and performed at leading Festivals in Europe. At the crossroad of numerous influences, Maalesh’s musical style is both classic and modern.

The inspiration of this body of artworks evolves from a three-year research of the artist’s multiple heritage and identity (several generations Ameru, fourth generation Maasai and fourth generation Ethiopian). The name “Ntinyari” means SERENDIPITY and carries the essence of all the bloodlines of her multiple cultural DNAs that have walked the earth from generation to generation, country to country along the Nile River Valley to finally settle on the plains of Kenya and Northern Tanzania.

France, 18th Century. The prestige of a noble house depends above all on the quality of its table. At the dawn of the French Revolution, gastronomy still is a prerogative of the aristocrats. When talented cooker Manceron is dismissed by the Duke of Chamfort, he loses the taste for cooking. Back in his country house, his meeting with the mysterious Louise gets him back on his feet. While they both feed a desire of revenge against the Duke, they decide to create the very first restaurant in France.
