Joëlle Epée Mandingue is one of the curator’s of the exhibition, Kubuni, which presents the best comics from Africa, aiming to share the continent’s richness. Author and cartoonist, Elyon is the organizer of the prestigious African comic book festival Bilili BD which takes annually place in Congo Brazzaville.
Anne Defréville is a designer, illustrator, and comic artist. Her comic work focuses on environmental and animal issues, challenging anthropocentrism in creative, sometimes humorous, and always thought-provoking ways. She was awarded the 2020 Artemisia Prize for the Environment and the Mouans-Sartoux Prize for best environmental book for her graphic novel ‘The Blue Age’ (2019). She is currently working on the illustrated adaptation of Joseph Kessel’s novel “The Lion” due to be released in October 2024.
She will be presenting a preview of her work in progress of ‘The Lion’ by Joseph Kessel before its release as well as live illustrations of Kenyan fauna to music.
